About

Spiritual Life

At Sunshine Bible Academy, faith is not an afterthought — it is the foundation of everything we do. From weekly chapel and daily devotions to Bible classes in every grade, students are immersed in an environment where God’s Truth shapes their hearts, minds, and character.

Faith Every Day

The Bible at the Center of Everything

Since March 27, 1951, Sunshine Bible Academy has held an unwavering commitment to integrating God’s Truth into every area of student life. That founding purpose has never been amended, and it guides everything we do today.

School days begin with an assembly and devotions, gathering students and faculty for worship, prayer, and teaching from God’s Word. These daily rhythms are the heartbeat of our campus — a time for the entire SBA family to draw closer to Christ together.

Bible classes are required in every grade, ensuring that students develop a deep and personal understanding of Scripture. Our teachers integrate a biblical worldview across all subjects — from science and history to literature and mathematics — so that students learn to see the world through the lens of God’s Truth.

Dorm parents and faculty serve as spiritual mentors, investing in students beyond the classroom. Whether through evening devotions in the dorms, one-on-one conversations, or prayer before a big game, every adult on campus is committed to helping students grow in their faith.

Growing in Faith

Pillars of Spiritual Growth

Students at SBA grow in faith through three foundational areas that shape their walk with Christ during their time on campus and for the rest of their lives.

Chapel & Worship

Worship is at the heart of the SBA experience. Chapel services bring the entire SBA family together for singing, prayer, and teaching from God’s Word. Seniors also share their testimonies in senior chapel services, and students participate in an annual Spiritual Life Emphasis Week (SLEW) featuring guest speakers, extended worship, and focused time for personal reflection and growth in Christ.

Bible Curriculum

Bible classes are required in every grade, building a strong scriptural foundation year by year. A biblical worldview is woven into every subject — from science and history to literature and mathematics — so students learn to see all of life through the lens of Scripture.

Service & Missions

Students put their faith into action through service projects in the local community and mission trips that take them beyond Miller, South Dakota. These hands-on experiences teach students to live as servant leaders — applying God’s Truth in real-world settings and making a difference for His kingdom.
