The SBA Livestock Program

A partnership between SBA, the SBA Foundation, and agricultural families — turning donated livestock and land stewardship into lasting support for Christ-centered education.

Program Overview

A Statewide Stewardship Partnership

The SBA Livestock Program is managed by the SBA Foundation and directed by Dan Todd. Donors contribute quality livestock, grain, or funds; the animals are then placed with a network of participating ranchers and farmers across South Dakota who raise and steward them. Proceeds from eventual sale — livestock, grains, and other tangible assets — flow back to support Sunshine Bible Academy.

The livestock themselves are spread across ranches and farms statewide rather than kept on campus; students visit participating operations periodically to see the program in action and learn from the families who steward the animals. Families participating in the livestock program may also be eligible for a tuition discount, making quality Christian education even more accessible.

How It Works

Three Ways the Livestock Program Serves SBA

The SBA Foundation Livestock Program creates a cycle of generosity, stewardship, and impact that benefits students, donors, and the broader SBA community.

Donate Livestock

Generous donors contribute quality livestock or funds for livestock purchase to the SBA Foundation. These gifts directly fuel the program and may qualify as a tax-deductible charitable contribution.

Partner Ranchers & Farmers

Under the direction of Livestock Program Director Dan Todd, the SBA Foundation places donated livestock with participating ranchers and farmers across South Dakota who raise the animals as part of their own operations. Students visit these operations periodically to see the work and learn from the people doing it.

Commodities Gifts

Donors can contribute livestock, grain, or other commodities directly to the program. Proceeds from eventual sale flow to the SBA Foundation to support the school, and participating families may also receive a tuition discount, making Christian education more affordable.
